Myrtle Beach Pelicans turn tragedy into triumph with annual educational scholarship

Recently, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans organization has been on the forefront in the fight against cancer. In 2014, the ball club rolled out its “strike out cancer” series in an effort to help raise cancer awareness. But their efforts didn’t start there. Back In 2008, 66 year old Bruce Dal Canton, the team’s pitching coach lost his fight with esophageal cancer. But it was his love of teaching that helped team officials create the Bruce Dal Canton Scholarship.

Coastal Carolina Rallies for 6-4 win at High Point

Michael Paez, G.K. Young and Zach Remillard each hit doubles in the eighth inning and Coastal Carolina scored five runs in the frame as the 18th-ranked Chanticleers rallied for a 6-4 win at High Point Saturday night at Williard Stadium. 

Coastal Carolina Baseball Defeats Bryant, 7-2

Coastal Carolina had some timely hits, took advantage of three errors and Alex Cunningham struck out a career-high nine batters to lead the Chanticleers (12-6)  to a 7-2 win versus Bryant (2-10) Friday evening in the first of a three-game weekend series at Springs Brooks Stadium.

Coastal Carolina Holds on for 8-6 Win Versus Toledo

An offensive explosion in the first three innings turned into a pitchers’ duel late and Coastal Carolina (10-6) held on for an 8-6 victory versus Toledo (4-10) Monday afternoon in the final game of the 2015 Coastal Carolina Invitational at Springs Brooks Stadium.
